What is Mentoring?
Mentoring - from the Greek word meaning enduring - is defined as a sustained relationship between a youth and an adult. Through continued involvement, the adult offers support, guidance, and assistance as the younger person goes through a difficult period, faces new challenges, or works to correct earlier problems. In particular, where parents are either unable or unavailable to provide responsible guidance for their children, mentors can play a critical role.
Who Are Mentors . . . What Do They Do?
Mentors - responsible adults who care, listen, and offer encouragement. Mentors are ordinary people, partners who have one thing in common - a commitment to making the world a better place for our children.
"And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to the fathers, least I come and smite the earth with a curse." (Malachi 4:6)
